As a cyclist, it is sometimes hard to balance the joy of riding with the dangers on our roads. With the growing population of cyclists on the roads across America, it is important to understand the rules of the road for both bicycles and motor vehicles. Many states laws - as inadequate as they are - direct motorists to exercise "due care" around cyclists, but all too often, that does not happen. This site is dedicated to promoting and protecting the rights of cyclists across the country.

1. Ride with a cell phone, i.d., emergency contacts and something to write with.

2. Dial 911, call the police or an ambulance immediately.

3. Give no written or recorded statements to anyone.

4. Get the business card of the officer.
